Diabetes mellitus describes a group of serious metabolic diseases impacting glucose levels, which has now become a global epidemic. Glucose measurement presents a “snapshot” of glycemic control at any given time. HbA1c reflects the average glycemic control over about the last three months. Urine albumin is a marker of early diabetic nephropathy indicating that the diabetes has already caused damage to the kidney, allowing small amounts of albumin to be lost through the urine.

Early detection of diabetes is important to prevent or delay its co-morbidities such as cardiac and kidney disease. Abbott is ready to help you take on this challenge.
